Today marks another fabulous milestone. Yes, it’s my birthday—and absolutely not a workday. I claimed this day for myself, poured into my own cup, and treated “me time” like a non-negotiable appointment. And honestly? Despite the long shifts and the many nights where sleep was more of a suggestion than a reality, I still manage to look pretty darn youthful—if I may toot my own horn just a little.
As I take a moment to celebrate, my mind drifts back to where it all began. I left Jamaica many years ago with nothing but hope in my pocket and a determination to build a better life for myself and my son. There was no detailed roadmap, no perfect plan—just courage, faith, and a fire in my spirit. The journey wasn’t easy; some chapters were heavy, some uncertain, and some downright exhausting. But every single step has been worth it.
The struggles taught me resilience.
The sacrifices taught me strength.
The victories—big and small—taught me gratitude.
Looking back, I realize I’ve become a woman I’m truly proud of: someone who keeps going, keeps growing, and keeps glowing (yes, the glow is real). I’ve built a life rooted in hard work, love, faith, and the belief that better days are always ahead.
So today, I celebrate the journey, the lessons, the blessings, and the beautifully imperfect path that brought me here. I honor my growth, my resilience, and the grace that carried me through it all. And most of all, I celebrate the woman I continue to become.
Here’s to another year of purpose, joy, strength, and unexpected magic.
